Following a three-decade career of public service that included four years as attorney general of the United States, six years in the U.S. Senate and eight years as governor of Missouri, John Ashcroft joined Regent in 2005, giving students the rare privilege of being mentored by a leader known for confronting tough issues in law and government.

Regent students are privileged to learn from one of the world's most respected leaders. Admiral Clark retired from the Navy in 2005, having made his mark on more than just that military branch, but also on his nation. The former Chief of Naval Operations directed the Joint Staff's Crisis Action Team for Desert Shield and Desert Storm and is considered a visionary with a bold, purposeful approach to leadership. Clark attributes his success to investing in human capital.

Born and raised in India, Dr. Burgess is passionate about changing the world with an international focus to meet the needs of Regent's diverse student body. He was instrumental in implementing the doctoral curriculum around Regent's Ph.D. program in Renewal Studies and is a widely published author.

Dr. Collins is cofounder of American Association of Christian Counseling (AACC), the largest Christian counseling association in the world, and founding editor of Christian Counseling Today magazine. Known as the father of Christian counseling, Dr. Collins is in popular demand as a prolific author and speaker. As a distinguished visiting professor, he will be teaching Regent's doctoral students and advising Psychology & Counseling faculty in increasing the school's leadership presence.

This former Regent University dean was appointed by President Ronald Reagan and reappointed by President George W. Bush to the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, on which he served four times as chairman and lectured throughout the world. A prolific author and expert on presidential and congressional leadership, he is a featured political analyst and commentator for national news media. Before joining Regent, Dr. Dunn served as dean of Grove City College and taught at Clemson University, the University of Illinois-Urbana and Florida State University.

This former Regent University president returned to Regent in 2005 having also served as president of Taylor University and Asbury College. Gyertson has hosted a nationally syndicated religious news program, sits on numerous executive boards and is a highly sought after business and ministry consultant.

Dr. Selig came to Regent in 1980 as a founding professor of special education. He has helped launch the distance-learning program and expand the number and types of degrees offered. Dr. Selig is a leader in the development of the regulations for special education both at the state and federal level. He has written extensively in parenting, relationships and individual differences.

A seasoned researcher and author, Dr. Twelftree has some one hundred books, articles and reviews to his credit. He has served on several boards, including the Institute for Biblical Research and Journal for the Study of Historical Jesus and is a member of the prestigious Tyndale Fellowship, Cambridge, UK. Twelftree is also a part of the Third Quest for the Historical Jesus movement, a scholarly attempt to discover the true identity and message of Jesus.

Dr. Yarhouse, licensed clinical psychologist and Regent professor since 1998, is appointee to the Dr. Rosemarie Scotti Hughes Endowed Chair for Christian Thought in Mental Health Practice. He is also founder of Regent's Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity (www.sexualidentityinstitute.org). Dr. Yarhouse has served on many boards and councils, including his role as senior fellow for research on sexual identity with the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities and previously the Marriage Law Project with the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, DC.
"I try to call students to be good stewards of the many resources they have been given, to teach them to be advocates for those who are marginalized, and to see what they do in the context of God's redemptive plan."
