Scholarships, Grants and Tuition Discounts

The School of Communication & the Arts is committed to providing an excellent, high-value private education at a competitive price. Starting in the fall of 2012, tuition rates will be lowered by 10%. In addition, we have a comprehensive offering of scholarships, grants and tuition discounts which are awarded for one academic year at a time, unless stipulated, to include fall, spring and summer semesters. Academic Merit Scholarship

Award: $750-$5,850 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.2 GPA or higher

Stipulation: Award cannot be combined with other scholarships and may be used for School of Communication & the Arts coursework only. Applicants with the highest GPAs will be awarded first until funds are depleted. Award amounts are based on the strength of each applicant's GPA and test scores.

Apply: Complete a scholarship application form and a FAFSA application

Acting Scholarship

Award: Varies

Eligibility:

  • Full-time MFA in Acting student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • Acting audition required

Stipulation: The Department of Theatre Arts faculty will determine the award.

Apply: Complete a scholarship application form prior to each academic year enrolled.

Dale and Glory Chapman Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
Church Matching Grant

Award: Up to $750 per semester 

Eligibility:

  • All School of Communication & the Arts students with participating churches

Apply: Complete a church match application

Milton and Nicki Cole Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $2,500 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrates financial need
Corporate Partnership Tuition Discount

Award: 25% 

Eligibility:

Apply: Complete the corporate sponsorship form each semester

Council of Graduate Students (COGS) Tuition Discount

Award: Up to 50% 

Eligibility:

  • Elected COGS senators and representatives

Stipulation: Student Services will contact Central Financial Aid to award recipients. 

Dean's Merit Scholarship

Award: 50%-100% for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.8 GPA or higher
  • Exemplifies strong leadership skills and a Christian commitment

Stipulation: The Dean of the School of Communication & the Arts will select recipients.

Harry N. Garbis Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $2000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Exemplifies servant leadership and volunteerism
Harold B. Gibson, III Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $2,500 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Exemplifies moral character and integrity
J. Ivory Henson Memorial Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
Paul Hunsinger Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time communication student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.8 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrates promising scholarship and research potential
Justice Memorial Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time television student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrates financial need
Patricia Kuffel Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time doctoral student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrates financial need
  • Can be used for tuition and/or books
Mary Ellen Lawing Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time journalism student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
The Founding Pioneer Alumni Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrates financial need
  • Exemplifies a strong Christian commitment and spiritual maturity
E.M. Lindvall Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Female
  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Exhibits exceptional promise in chosen field of study
Military Tuition Discount

Award: 25% 

Eligibility:

  • Active-duty military, national guard, reservist or veteran
  • Part-time or full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • Proof of military status
Military Spouse Tuition Discount

Award: 15% 

Eligibility:

  • Spouse of an active-duty military, national guard or reservist
  • Part-time or full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • Proof of military dependent status
Morse Family Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $4000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
David and Janey Pace Scholarship

Award: Up to $500 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrates financial need
William and Jackie Rose Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time student in the School of Communication & the Arts
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
Slosser Endowed Scholarship

Award: Up to $2000 for one academic year

Eligibility:

  • Full-time journalism student in the School of Communication & the Arts
