http://www.collegeanswer.com/index.jsp is the largest online searchable database of scholarships, extensive content and tools for planning and preparing for college, plus the ability to apply for education loans on line.

www.salliemae.com gives information on educational funding.

www.fafsa.ed.gov takes you to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid webpage. This application is required to be considered for student loans, and there are links to other useful information on the site.

www.regent.edu/admin/finaid/ takes you to the University Central Financial Aid Office where you will find information on university-wide scholarships, resources available to Virginians, and other useful tips and tools.

Five Steps to Smooth the Financial Process

1. Read/Research. Look everywhere you can think of for sources of aid. Read all directions carefully and supply all required materials when applying for aid.

2. Apply. Don't assume you won't get any aid. Don't miss deadlines, beat them.

3. Keep copies of EVERYTHING!

4. Find out what each source of aid requires. They are all different. Is this a one-time award? Is it renewable? What must I do to re-qualify?

5. Get help. Ask university personnel when you're not sure.
