General Information

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

After classes start for the particular semester, students no longer have the ability to make any registration changes in GENISYS.  You will have to notify the secretary responsible for your specified program:

Psychology/PsyD Program

Should you need to have registration changes made after classes start-E-mail the secretary in the program of  your enrollment AND include the following:

  • your full name
  • student ID (Your 9-digit GENISYS log-in, NOT your Social Security #)
  • the CRN number of the course
  • course number

Two weeks after the first day of the semester is the end of the Add/Drop Period-100% Refund Period.  At this time schools no longer have the ability to make any registration changes, the Registrar must add/drop students.  Student must fill out an add/drop form by downloading it from the Registrar's website at this link: http://www.regent.edu/admin/registrar/forms/add_dropRev0605.pdf

Please be aware that as of the end of the University approved Add/Drop period, you must pre-pay for any classes that you are adding. Even if you have authorization from your school's dean to add a class, you cannot be registered for it until you have paid the tuition & any fees in the Business Office. Any questions regarding payment should be addressed to the Business Office. You may call the Business Office toll-free at 877-850-8434, or use the on-line payment form on GENISYS. Once you have done this, please notify the Registrar, and she will process your approved requests.

BLACKBOARD INFORMATION
(Psychology/Psy.D. Students only)

PsyD students must register for a special course in Blackboard to maintain and stay current with their Approved Degree Plan and the various manuals within the PsyD program.

  • Login to Blackboard. 
  • Go to the courses tab.
  • Scroll down to School of Psychology and Counseling under the Courses Catalog and click.
  • Scroll down page to Psy.D. (PSY-00).
  • Click on the enroll button.

Now PSYD will show up as a course you are participating in.  Click on PSYD and then click on Course Materials.  Either print or save the handbooks.  Click on the Approved Degree Program Forms File and select your particular cohort.

GRADUATION/DEGREE CLEARANCE CHECKLIST

  • Graduation Application
  • ADP (Approved Degree Program) Form
  • CPCE Exit Exam (not every student must take this)
  • Library Course
  • Transfer of Credit Form (if applicable)
  • Academic Petition to Update ADP Form (if applicable)
  • Completion Within Five Years for MA programs and 7 years for doctorate programs
  • GPA (minimum of 3.0)

DISSERTATION INFORMATION

Download and read the current Dissertation Handbook from the Psy.D. or Ph.D. program found under forms and downloads.  It is the student's responsibility to download and print the Dissertation Oral Defense Competency Review.

Dissertation Info from the Library: 

The Library's role in the processing of students dissertations is to facilitate a binding service, collect and distribute bound copies for various offices on campus, and send the manuscript to UMI for listing and copyright registration.  The Dissertation and Thesis Processing Information sheet provides a guideline for processing and the Dissertation/Thesis/Portfolio Charge sheet lists the pricing information.  Students should contact the Circulation Desk (352.4150) with questions pertaining to Dissertation.

SPC INFO AND UPDATES NEWSLETTER

The SPC Info. and Updates can be found in an e-mail from Alyce Bargamin and on the SPC website under News and Events.

On a weekly basis the SPC Info and Updates Newsletter is updated with a new message from the dean and other important information such as application deadlines, events and conferences, important dates, program policies, and various other news and notices as a student you should be aware of. 

E-MAIL UPDATES

On a periodic basis Alyce Bargamin will send out e-mails to all SPC Students.  These e-mails are important information from professors, the dean, COGS, staff, etc. Joyce Harrell also e-mails the Psychology/PsyD students of important program information when necessary.  Please read these e-mails, so that you will be an informed student. 

Please ensure that you are using only your Regent University generated email for all university business. Your Regent email address needs to be correct in Genisys. You have the option of forwarding your Regent email to another address for convenience, but the university will only send information to your Regent email address. You will need to login to Genisys and go to your Preferences under Tools to check your personal settings. This information must always be up-to-date to ensure you receive all important correspondence. For more information, email Victoria Walker.

In order to use the copy machines on campus students may purchase a copy card from Copy Services located in the University Library.
