Church and Seminary Matching Grant
The School of Divinity recognizes the Church's role in the development of church leadership. To foster this relationship, we created the Church and Seminary Matching Grant as a means for churches and ministries to invest in the ministry training of its members. A church, denomination, or ministry organization can invest in a student’s tuition, and the School of Divinity will match it dollar-for-dollar up to 20 percent of the total tuition costs, not to exceed $2,890 annually. Any funds received over 20 percent can be applied directly to the student’s tuition account, unmatched.
The Church and Seminary Matching Grant is available to both part-time and full-time students who are supported by churches and ministry organizations. Additional details are available on the Church and Seminary Matching Grant Participation Form [PDF].
The following ratios are suggested (based on 20 percent tuition investment by Church/Ministry). Tuition is calculated at $515/credit hour.
| Example Church Matching Grants | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Credit Load | Church Contribution* | Divinity Contribution | Total Discount |
| 9 hours | $927.00 | $927.00 | $1854.00 |
| 6 hours | $618.00 | $618.00 | $1236.00 |
| 3 hours | $309.00 | $309.00 | $618.00 |
*Churches/Ministries can contribute as much or as little as they choose, but the School of Divinity will only match dollar-for-dollar up to 20 percent of tuition, not to exceed $2,890 annually.
