2009 - 2010 Financial Aid Forms

These forms are for the Academic Year from August 2009 (Fall) through July 2010 (Summer). As a financial aid applicant you will need to submit various forms to determine your eligibility, apply for a scholarship, or appeal an ineligible status. When possible, all forms are made available in Adobe pdf file or Microsoft Word doc file formats.

 

Federal Financial Aid (Stafford Loans, Pell/ACG/TEACH Grants)

This is a requirement for any student wishing to apply for a Federal Stafford Loan or a Federal Pell, ACG, or TEACH Grant (Pell Grants for Undergraduate Degree Students Only). It is a secure web-based application. Complete the 2009 - 2010 FAFSA for Financial Aid from Fall 2009 until Summer 2010.  Several schools at Regent also require the form for school-based aid consideration.

Request Form

(required for federal loans)

Must be completed prior to being packaged for Federal Aid. Log into Genisys directly or into MyRegent then click the Genisys logo. There is no deadline, but to ensure the arrival of your loan funds in time for final payment submit the form at least 8 weeks before your payment deadline.  If you are a new student, you will receive your login/password information after the receipt of your FAFSA data. 

Federal PLUS Loans are for parents of dependent undergraduate students who are attending at least half-time. PLUS Loans are used to help meet the cost of attendance at Regent. Parents should apply at least 4 weeks before the start of the semester.

Federal Graduate PLUS Loans are now available to graduate students. Graduate PLUS Loans are used to help meet the cost of attendance at Regent and require a check of the applicant's credit history.

Attention Incoming Graduate Students!

The Virginia General Assembly is phasing out the VTAG for graduate students. This means that new graduate students will no longer be eligible to apply for the grant starting Fall 2009.

If you did not receive VTAG last year as a graduate student, please do not submit the application as it will be denied.

Remember:
- Graduate students in Divinity or joint degree with Divinity are NOT eligible.

- Undergraduate students majoring in Religious Studies are NOT eligible.

Private Loans (in addition to Federal Loans)

For those also pursing private loans (in addition to subsidized and unsubsidized loans), this form is required in order to know the lender of choice.

This worksheet is only required if the student leaves FAFSA question 23 blank or if the student reported a drug-related conviction. Submit a correction to the Student Aid Report by calling 1-800-4FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) or by going to www.fafsa.ed.gov and submitting an electronic correction.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA must be filled out by any student wishing to apply for a Federal Stafford Loan or a Federal Pell Grant (Pell Grants for Undergraduate Degree Completion Students Only). Be sure to print out the signature page at the end of the application process and mail it to the Federal Processor. You may also complete the signature requirement using a Personal Identification Number (PIN). For more information about your PIN and your FAFSA, click here.

Note: The last day of the loan period is generally your last day of attendance in the academic year. However, in order for Central Financial Aid to be able to certify the loan application by the last day of attendance, your financial aid application file must be complete before then. Your file includes the results we receive from your FAFSA. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that your FAFSA be accurately completed at least six weeks prior to the last day of attendance.

Online FAFSA applications take approximately 2 weeks (during normal processing time) to be processed and the results sent to Central Financial Aid.


Summer Loan Request Form
Students who did not have a summer loan calculated as part of their original loan package must submit this form if interested in a loan for the summer of 2010.

Deadline:
There is no deadline for the Summer Loan Request Form. Yet you must have properly completed the FAFSA for 2009 - 2010 by no later than June 30, 2010. To ensure the arrival of funds in time for final payment submit the form at least one month prior to the start of the summer term. Not later than April 1, 2010 is recommended.


Household Size Confirmation Worksheet

This form is required only is selected by Regent University. Central Financial Aid will compare the data on this worksheet with data submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are selected to confirm y our household size, please complete this form in Genisys. You will be asked to provide the names, ages and colleges attended between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. This information is vital to ensuring the correct data is used in determining federal aid eligibility.

Deadline:
There is no deadline for the Household Size Confirmation Form, but Regent will not be able to award federal aid until this form has been submitted and reviewed.
