Joseph Cicero
Financial Aid Counselor (Last Names: A-B)
Joe has served as Financial Aid Counselor since July 2010. Prior to joining the staff of Central Financial Aid he served as Financial Aid Coordinator for the Regent School of Undergraduate Studies beginning in April 2008 and started his work at Regent as an Admissions Counselor in July 2006 . He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at Taylor University and a Master of Arts in Communication from Regent University.
Kenyatta Lawrence (Last Names: L-P)
Financial Aid Counselor
Kenyatta has served as Financial Aid Counselor since November 2010. She has previously served as Financial Aid Counselor/Advisor at Hampton University and Tidewater Technical College. She also spent seven years working in the banking industry prior to entering financial aid.
Shannon O'Leary
Service Team Manager (Last Names: S)
Shannon has served as Financial Aid Service Team Manager since July 2010. Prior to her promotion to this position, she served as Financial Aid Counselor beginning in August 2009. Shannon's previous role was that of Director of Financial Aid at the Culinary Institute of Virginia in Norfolk, Virginia. She has also worked in the financial aid office of Advanced Technology Institute and as a student advisor for Kaplan Test Prep & Admissions. Shannon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from The University of Virginia's College at Wise.
Janine Smith (Last Names: G-K)
Financial Aid Counselor
Janine has served as Financial Aid Counselor since October 2011. She has previously served as Associate Director of Residence Life at Texas A & M University and Residence Life Center Coordinator at University of Oklahoma. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from California State Polytechnic University and a Master's of Business Adminsitration from Keller Gradaute School of Management.
Karen Sprague
Financial Aid Counselor (Last Names: C-F)
Karen has served as Financial Aid Counselor since August 2010. She was previously Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Virginia Wesleyan College. From 2002 to 2006 she worked as Senior Financial Aid Administrator and Interim Director of Finance at ITT Technical Institute in Norfolk, Virginia. She is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and has an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Skagit Valley Community College.
Rachael Wright
Financial Aid Counselor (Last Names: Q, R, T-Z)
Rachael has served as Financial Aid Counselor since July 2010. She previously served as a student worker. Rachael earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Regent University.
Joe Dobrota
Director of Central Financial Aid
Joe joined the Central Financial Aid Office as Director in October 2005 after serving as Financial Aid Consultant with SunGard Higher Education of Malvern, Pennsylvania. Joe served as a member of Regent's Central Financial Aid Office staff from August 1994 to January 2005, beginning as a Graduate Assistant and advancing to Counselor, Assistant Director, and then Associate Director. He was a recipient of the Regent University Employee of the Month award in April 1997 and recipient of the President's Award for Excellence for the 2001 calendar year.
His professional activities include serving as chair of the Electronic Services Committee for the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA; 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11) as well as Public Relations Chair for the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA; 2008-09). He has previously served as Electronic Services Chair for VASFAA. Joe holds an M.A. in Public Policy from Regent University and a B.A. in Political Science from Susquehanna University.
Dotti Davidson
Associate Director
Dotti has served as Associate Director since March 2005. Before that Dotti served as Senior Financial Aid Counselor beginning in July 2003. She previously served as Financial Aid Counselor beginning in April 1999. She also served as Graduate Assistant from January to March 1999. Dotti has participated as an instructor at the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA) New Aid Officers Workshop and is active in VASFAA's Super Saturday outreach program. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from Humphreys College where she was an assistant in the Financial Aid Office. Dotti completed the Master of Business Administration program at Regent University.
Deborah Brown
Student Loan Manager
Deborah has served as the Student Loan Manager since 2006 and was previously a Financial Aid Counselor since June 2004. She previously served as the Federal Direct Loan Coordinator at Hampton University. Prior to entering the financial aid profession, she worked with Wachovia Bank. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from Pennsylvania State University.
Judy Marroquín
Awarding Coordinator
Prior to this position, Judy served as Senior Financial Aid Counselor and as Financial Aid Counselor beginning in March 2003. She joined Regent after serving as Assistant to the President of Semilla, Inc. and has served in the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices at Goshen College, Indiana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Goshen College.
Ashley Schoch
Document Control Specialist
Ashley has served the Central Financial Aid office as Document Control Specialist since September 2006. She is also pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology from Regent University. She has previous document imaging experience from Focus Legal Solutions in Omaha, Nebraska.
Lyuda West
Financial Aid Systems Manager
Lyuda has served as Systems Manager since August 2010. She has extensive experience in database consulting and systems development. She previously served as Assistant Director of Recruitment for the School of Undergraduate Studies. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Civil and Commercial Construction from the Kiev Technical School of Civil Engineering, a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Kiev University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and a Master of Arts degree in Management from Regent University.
